Aim & Scope

The Journal Cardiology Insights aims to cover a wide range of topics related to invasive, non-invasive, and interventional cardiology, following the guidelines provided by the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Some of the areas the journal focuses on include:

  1. Invasive Cardiology:
    1. Coronary angiography and angioplasty
    2. Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
    3. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) and intracoronary pressure measurement
    4. Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
    5. Cardiac catheterization and hemodynamics
    6. Structural heart disease interventions (e.g., transcatheter aortic valve replacement)
  2. Non-invasive Cardiology:
    1. Echocardiography (including transesophageal echocardiography)
    2. Stress testing (exercise and pharmacological)
    3. Nuclear cardiology
    4. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
    5. Computed tomography angiography (CTA)
    6. Cardiac electrophysiology studies (non-invasive aspects)
    7. Cardiac biomarkers and laboratory diagnostics
  3. Interventional Cardiology:
    1. Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA)
    2. Coronary stenting (bare metal and drug-eluting stents)
    3. Transradial and transfemoral access techniques
    4. Rotational atherectomy
    5. Intravascular imaging techniques (IVUS, optical coherence tomography)
    6. Left atrial appendage occlusion
    7. Structural heart disease interventions (e.g., patent foramen ovale closure)

Additionally, the Journal Cardiology Insights may also publish articles on related topics such as preventive cardiology, heart failure management, arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment, cardiomyopathies, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular genetics, and advances in cardiac imaging techniques.

The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by WAME and ICMJE regarding the publication of research articles, including authorship criteria, conflicts of interest disclosure, protection of patient privacy, and appropriate use of statistics.

Please note that while this information is based on the general scope of cardiology journals, specific journals may have their own editorial policies and guidelines. It is always advisable to refer to the instructions for authors provided by the individual journal for comprehensive information on their coverage and submission requirements.
